Do you enjoy seeing your apps featured with fantastic ratings on the Google PlayStore, but strive to keep pushing for more? We are looking for an Android Engineer to join our Customer Experience team who can help further the success of our Android app. The app has more than 5M active users worldwide, an average app store review of 4.8 stars, and has over 99.9% crash-free sessions. Kotlin is upwards of 75%of our codebase and all new code is written in in it.***Here are some early considerations:** App featured at the Google I/O 2019 Developer Keynote* Kotlin first approach* Over 10M+ downloads* We have a working relationship with Google who feed back to continually progress our platform learning and are featured regularly too* The codebase uses Arch Components (ViewModel, LiveData, Room, etc.) and not to forget RxJava & Coroutines* Potential of making an impact on millions of customers* Never ending chance of experimenting with latest tech* We have done some significant work to modularise the app and are continuing to follow best coding practices* Working with Hilt dependency injection***What you’ll be doing:** Deliver top quality projects made using best practices and guidelines* Work with our design team to implement clean design that respects the platform* Work in an agile, cross-functional team taking joint responsibility for the engineering team deliverables* Take a proactive and hands-on approach in all features and tasks***Who we’d like to meet:** You are an experienced & passionate Android developer* You are comfortable with Kotlin* You know RxJava/ reactive programming* You can find solutions to complex problems* You can contribute to discussions on technical architecture and design* You believe that all code is legacy code if it isn't unit tested* You know agile / scrum and can work as part of a smaller cross-functional & feature focused team* You can take ownership of big pieces of work, from the planning phase right through to execution and delivery* You have a passion for quality and strong attention to detail* You want to learn new technologies* You contribute to the Android community, through things like projects on GitHub, blog posts or giving talks***What's in it for you?*We will give you a competitive salary, bonus scheme, staff discount, sample sales and pension matching but also a fantastic bunch of flexible benefits that focus on your health, wealth & inner self for you and your friends and family.***We are all equal!*We’re committed to creating an inclusive workforce. - 1st stage: 1 hour remote video interview*This is an opportunity for the team to get to know yourself and your experience. They will be keen to learn about previous projects you've been involved in as well as an opportunity for yourself to ask some questions.*
- 2nd stage: Remote technical exercise*This is a remote technical exercise to be completed in your own time.*
- Final stage: 2 hour remote video interview*Pending a successful technical exercise, you will be invited to the final stage which includes a collaboration session with one of our engineers to discuss your test solution.
