Serco have an exciting opportunity for Civil Enforcement Officers to join our Parking Services team.

First and foremost, you will be the face of Serco’s parking enforcement team in the community. As the Civil Enforcement Officer, you are responsible for ensuring enforcement of all on/off street permitted parking regulations in all controlled zones/beats, in accordance with the Traffic Management Act 2004. You will provide vital front-line customer service to the local community and take great pride in your work.

A typical day will see you walking in excess of 10 miles in all weather conditions, including snow, wind and rain, offering guidance and advice in parking matters to the general public and issuing penalty charge notices and authorise removal of vehicles using a handheld computer terminal where appropriate. You will also report any damages or faults with pay & display machines within the borough and carry out gritting at the off-Streetcar parks as and when required, as well as any other duties required by management.

We know that Civil Enforcement Officers are our community’s unsung heroes and it can be pretty hard work, but we can offer you the opportunity to go home each day with a sense of community spirit, pride in your work, belonging within a supportive and diverse team and the knowledge that your work is making a difference in helping to promote a cleaner, greener living and working space for everyone in Park Royal.

About You

As front-line Civil Enforcement Officers, you will be confident in dealing with members of the public and have the ability to remain calm and act professionally and courteously at all times and in all situations. You should be approachable, friendly and always promote positive public relations.

It is desireable for candidates to have parking enforcement experience and hold an NVQ Level 2 in Parking Enforcement.

We ask that you are happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and have exceptional communication skills in both spoken and written English.
