Liaison Psychiatry Practitioner Permanent Band 6 Posts

The Liaison Psychiatry Service At Queen’s Hospital, Burton-upon-trent, Has Vacancies For B6 Liaison Mental Health Practitioners.
The Service Provides Comprehensive Mental Health Input Into The General Hospital In Burton-upon-trent, And Its Two Community Hospitals In Lichfield And Tamworth, To Support Individuals Of All Ages, Those With Substance And Alcohol Concerns, Learning Difficulties With Mental Health Needs, And Those Living With Challenges Associated With Older Age.
The Primary Focus Of The Service Is The Assessment And Treatment Of Patients Presenting With A Mental Health Issue Within A Physical Healthcare Setting, Including Comprehensive Risk Assessment, Support, Advice, Signposting And Brief Interventions. Many Individuals Will Have Physical Health Conditions Impacting Their Mental Health, And So A Good Understanding Of This Aspect Is Advantageous.
Additional Responsibilities Will Include Providing Indirect Patient Care Via Formal And Informal Consultancy E.G. Attending Mdt Meetings And Providing Advice And Support, And Both Formal And Informal Training To The Staff Of The Hospital Sites In Relation To Mental Health.
The Service Has Recently Been Awarded Transformation Funding To Develop Into A Core24 Model, Providing A 24/7, All Age Service, So This Is An Exciting Opportunity To Be Part Of Shaping The Delivery Of Liaison Services In This Locality. Applicants Should Be Able And Willing To Work Flexibly To Cover A 24/7 Rota.
