The London Marathon was first held on 29 March 1981. Since this time the event has continued to grow in size, stature and popularity with more than 40,000 runners each year. The team behind the TCS London Marathon also organises a whole host of other great events including RideLondon, The Vitality London 10,000 & Westminster Mile, Children with Cancer UK Swim Serpentine and The Big Half.
