THE ROLE

You will join the squad responsible for Personio Knowledge Automation, a concierge for employees answering their requests automatically. Knowledge Automation is part of the People Workflow Automation initiative. PWA automates people workflows across the employee lifecycle across different tools and teams, enabling HR to go beyond HR and win back valuable time through automation, time that can then be spent on and with people.

We are a cross-functional group of engineers, designers and product managers from many nationalities and backgrounds, spread across different locations, and we continue to grow in 2022. Join us and help shape the People Workflow Automation journey for Personio — we are just getting started!

Role & Responsibilities

• You'll join a team working on the latest software Personio is releasing which will improve the experience of every employee working for Personio's customers.
• With the help of our product manager, you'll design and implement new features that our customers will love.
• You'll design and develop a maintainable, reliable, performant, and secure API to empower the frontend and Slack team.
• You'll lead by example and push our engineering practices towards excellence with efficient, performant code, good design patterns and healthy engineering standards.
• You'll mentor junior engineers, reviewing their code and RFCs to help them grow in their career.
• You'll participate in technical case interviews to bring in exceptional talent such as yourself

How we work

• We use our platform mindset to build services that every team can leverage and build upon.
• We are a product company, so our teams are organised in a mission-based cross-functional fashion. You will work in the Workflows and Integrations Domain, alongside other Backend Engineers, Designers, Product and Engineering managers to create the building blocks to automate processes in all other customer-facing domains.
• We have a “you built it, you run it” attitude and CI/CD is second nature to us - we use AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab to implement it.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Skills you bring

• You have over 5 years of software engineering experience building and designing scalable applications, tools or distributed systems
• You have a strong expertise with Go.
• You’re a cloud-native (AWS preferred) and bring experience with containerisation and container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes preferred)
• You can translate Domain strategy into engineering decisions
• You have strong knowledge on software testing strategies, CI/CD, pull/merge request and code reviews
• You have an excellent written and spoken English (level C1/C2 on the CEFR scale)
