Amazon Advertising operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, ing a rich array of digital display advertising solutions with the goal of helping our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. Our team is responsible for Amazon Advertising’s Public API Data Lake, used by internal providers and stakeholders to build better software, services, and APIs. You will work on making the API easier to develop and design against including the full SDLC for critical developer facing tools and functionality. If you are interested in full stack development with an opportunity to influence design decisions made across the entire advertising organization this is the role for you. You will work on fascinating problems at “Amazon Scale” and own collaboration with various stakeholders including Product Managers, Dev Managers, Partner Managers and the Advertising Support team. The team is small but growing quickly, so you get the opportunity to help establish the engineering culture and best practices while mentoring and growing your colleagues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software products that impact many areas of our business
  • Define requirements, create software designs, implement code to these specifications
  • Provide thorough unit and integration testing, and support products while deployed and used by our stakeholders
  • Collaboration with other engineers on the team, product managers, technical program managers, and partner teams.
  • Dealing with ambiguity when solving problems

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  • 4+ years experience in software development
  • 2+ years experience in system design and architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous technical internship(s), if applicable.
  • Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
  • Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
