DataStage Developer Responsibilities

  • Main technical resources for projects and enhancements
  • Review and discussing project requirements with key personnel assigned to projects.
  • Work with architecture and operations departments to ensure that applications follow company standards at a high level of availability
  • Support the designs, developing, testing, and implementing changes to the applications in support of Business Unit initiatives and change requests
  • Perform integration testing for each cycle of system design changes prior to migrating to Production applications
  • Cooperate with Release Manager to resolve readiness and deployment schedule of the applications modifications or enhancements
  • Designing and building scalable DataStage integrations.
  • Monitoring existing DataStage jobs and resolve any failures.
  • Testing and troubleshooting problems in DataStage integrations.
  • Review and improving existing DataStage integration for performance and fixes.
  • Providing support to customers and team members about issues relating to the storage, handling, and access of data.

Technical Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a similar field.
  • Demonstrable experience as a DataStage developer.
  • IBM DataStage certification or similar type of qualification.
  • Proficiency in SQL or another relevant coding language.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and database design.
  • Skilled at the designing and deployment of DataStage integrations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, as well as be self-motivated to constantly seek improvements to existing processes

Functional Knowledge Requirements

  • Understanding of Payroll and Tax Data
  • Understanding of Human Resource transactions
